This station is the southern end of the Fairmount line in Hyde Park—9.2 miles from the South Station in Downtown Boston. The Station serves multiple lines on the MBTA Commuter Rail system—but there are only stops for the Fairmount Line and the Franklin Commuter Line on separate platforms. Readville Station is notable for several railroad yards, which were mostly built in the first half of the 20th century. In addition, the area is a major light industrial and commercial area that could have major future potential for greater commercial development. There are no active CDC transit related housing or commercial development projects at this time.
